Spring Flowers Gone Wild with Why should we start, and fear to die and “Whosoever heareth,” shout, shout the sound

  Why should we start, and fear to die?
  What timorous worms we mortals are!
Death is the gate to endless joy,
  And yet we dread to enter there.

  The pains, the groans, the dying strife,
  Fright our approaching souls away;
And we shrink back again to life,
  Fond of our prison and our clay.

  O would my Lord his servant meet,
  My soul would stretch her wings in haste,
Fly fearless through death’s iron gate,
  Nor feel the terrors as she passed.

  Jesus can make a dying bed
  Feel soft as downy pillows are,
While on his breast I lean my head,
  And breathe my life out sweetly there.

Isaac Watts“Whosoever heareth,” shout, shout the sound!
Send the blessed tidings all the world around;
Spread the joyful news wherever man is found:
“Whosoever will, may come.”

Whosoever cometh need not delay,
Now the door is open, enter while you may;
Jesus is the true, the only living Way:
“Whosoever will, may come.”

“Whosoever will,” the promise secure,
“Whosoever will,” for ever must endure;
“Whosoever will,” ‘tis life for evermore:
“Whosoever will, may come.”

Chorus
“Whosoever will, whosoever will,”
Send the proclamation over vale and hill;
‘Tis a loving Father calls the wand’rer home:
“Whosoever will, may come.”
